The SRF30206 Certificate III in Fitness is the nationally accredited qualification to become a Fitness Instructor. The qualification is part of the National Training Package and recognized throughout Australia.
Enrolled students will complete all mandatory Core and Stream Units, as well as a required 4 elective units, and then they opt for either of 2 Specialization Units offered: a) Gym Instruction or b) Group Exercise.
Students are also able to combine both specialization units in order to gain dual qualifications (Gym Instruction / Group Exercise), for an additional fee and the required units.
The course is delivered via:
Please note: Where a course has scheduled practical requirements (ie. Workshops/Exams) there is a 100% attendance requirement for ALL students.
You can complete the theory components of the course in the environment of your choosing self-paced (distance/online), although we do require all students to attend workshops and exams.
All participants receive course manuals via electronic copies (student notebook and workbooks), any additional lecture notes, and access to online assessment and learning materials.
Before receiving your qualification, students must also submit a copy of a current Level 2 First Aid certificate which Global Fitness Institute also deliver (please check with Institute regarding locations and dates) or completed externally.
We allow a maximum of six months for you to complete the course but most students complete the course in a much shorter period.
The fitness industry is physical in nature, and whilst we do not expect all enrollees to be elite athletes, students must be prepared to physically participate and demonstrate competence in industry specific skills.
Course length may also be considerably shortened by successful application for Recognition of Prior Leaning (RPL), for those who have completed prior studies in related fields and/or have relevant industry experience. Please note: you can only apply for RPL for complete modules (not parts thereof), and you will be required to provide appropriate evidence. Students who have completed parts of the qualification with another provider can apply for direct credit transfer.
